Young People Talk Mental Health Over a Cuppa
Posted: 24th November 2022Young people had a chat over a cuppa and cake in support of their mental health.
In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, a Tea and Talk event was held at Forest Hall.
During the event, students were offered welfare support and urged to write down positive attributes about themselves, as well as completing mindfulness colouring and mental health awareness crosswords.
They could also pick up leaflets about the support on offer in school and enjoy cake, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Victoria Nolan, senior learning mentor, said: “At Forest Hall School, we pride ourselves on ensuring all students have the tools to support and look after their mental health and welfare.
“Mental Health Awareness Week is the prime time to remind students of all the fantastic support available to them, both inside of school and externally.
“The students loved the event where they were able to talk to one another about mental health, or even just have cake and a chat. Other activities, such as mindfulness colouring, may have been the 20 minutes down time they needed that day to look after their mental health.
“We are very proud of our students, and continue to encourage them to always speak up if they are ever struggling with their wellbeing.”
