Chidren Fire Catapult in Lesson
Posted: 28th November 2022There’s nothing like inviting children to fire a catapult to get their attention in lesson.
All Year 7 students took a trip to Stansted Mountfitchet Castle.
The visit enabled them to immerse themselves in history as they looked at displays showing what life was like during the 11th Century.
They tried on Norman clothing and fired mini catapults.
History teacher Jonathan Perry said: “This is a trip we are fortunate enough to be able to run every year with our Year 7 students. It gives them a great introduction into history at Forest Hall School and helps to bring alive history within the local area.
“The castle has done a great job of continuing to update the attraction with new additions, such as the mini catapult practice where students try to fire tennis balls at a target. As well as being home to a large amount of wildlife, it gives students a range of different experiences.”
