KS3 students get egg-cited about History!
Posted: 31st March 2017KS3 Students get egg-cited about History!
This week FHS students from Year 7 and 8 have been showing off their egg-cellent skills in History. Students were tasked with researching a famous historical figure and creating models featuring hard-boiled eggs. The competition gave students the opportunity to be free to research whoever they wanted, allowing to explore and learn independently outside the classroom. It also allowed students to get creative and think outside the box when it came to designing and making their models.
Mr. Perry, who organised the competition, said “When I first decided to run this competition I did not know what to expect. However, I have been overwhelmed by the quality of some of these designs and judging this competition has been one of the hardest things I have had to do this year”
Some of the stand-out models included: ‘John Lennon and Yolk-o Ono’, ‘Roald Dahl Egg Characters’, ‘Emily Wilding Davison at The Epsom Derby’ and ‘Boiled Eggs and WWI Soldiers’.
One of the students that took part commented on the competition saying “It was really great fun to go away and do my own research and I enjoyed getting creative making my own model!”
The Results of the competition are:
1st – Owen Richards
2nd – Maddie Whitmell
3rd – Adam McDavitt
Well done to everyone involved in this competition!
