Harry Potter Book Night 2017
Posted: 7th February 2017On Thursday 2nd February, over 90 KS2 and KS3 students and families attended Harry Potter Book Night at Forest Hall School. An annual event celebrated across the country, which is hosted by Bloomsbury publishers, saw this year's theme "Hogwarts Professors" come to life. Students in 7C entered a competition to design their own Hogwarts Professor with the chance of winning a class trip to Harry Potter Studios in London. Several students from the FHS Book Club came together to plan and design eight different stalls from Wand-Making and Potions Class to Pin the Sock on Dobby. There were even a few successful scores at Table Quidditch!
Upon entering the Library through Platform 9 3/4 and past the floating candles, young witches and wizards took part in the ultimate Harry Potter quiz.
School Librarian, Mrs S Wedgbrow said - “It was brilliant to see so many families teaming up to win. The butter beer proved popular as well as our own Year 11 magician Robert Cox who kept the crowds entertained. All in all it was a successful night of fun, magic and promoting reading. Many thanks to Sawbridge Words for coming along with a range of books for sale and the PTA for all of their support. Students have enjoyed the night so much that they have started their very own Harry Potter club. We're all looking forward to next year!”
