Stansted Professionals Mentor Students
Posted: 22nd February 2023Teenagers are being mentored by professionals working in various roles at Stansted Airport.
Year 11 students meet with their mentors every two weeks to gain an insight into the world of work.
The ten professionals volunteer their time to develop students organisational skills, to plan their career paths and to help them to write their CVs.
Students also get the opportunity to spend time at the airport shadowing their mentor in their professional role.
Chris Wade, head of Year 11 said: “Forest Hall School is delighted to continue our mentoring programme with London Stansted Airport for another year.
“The mentors help our students to prepare for their GCSE exams, as well as assist with. career planning. Having mentors who have backgrounds other than teaching can offer links to careers that students may want to pursue, as well as a glimpse into the duties and responsibilities of working in the business world.
“These sessions have always benefitted our students in terms of their academic achievement and personal growth, particularly in their confidence in speaking with adults.”
