Hard-hitting message for teenagers
Posted: 26th March 2020A hard-hitting workshop urged teenagers to stop and think about the consequences of violent actions.
Stand Against Violence worked with Year 9, 10 and 11 students at Forest Hall School.
The charity was set up by the brother of a man murdered the night before his 18th birthday.
The hard-hitting anti-violence workshop was set up to urge the teenagers to consider the choices they make in the future.
It urged students to put themselves in the position of the people who committed the violent act and the family to consider how they would feel.
Vicky Nolan, learning mentor, said: “Students were asked to draw the outline of a person and around them write how they might have felt if they were associated with the murder. This included being the brother of the victim, the mum of the culprit and the friends of the victim.
“Students were very engaged in every activity.”
