Announcement
Non-uniform day - Friday 27th May 2016
As you are aware, Friday 27th May 2016 is the last day of summer half term 1. This is a normal school day meaning lessons will finish at 3.20pm. To support our Year 10 and 11 students who are raising money to attend Greece in July we will be having a non-uniform day. The usual rules apply for non-uniform day:
- Sensible shoes are important – no high heels or beach wear.
- Clothes must be backed and cover shoulders.
- No offensive or rude words must be seen on any part of their clothing.
- No short skirts.
- No cut jeans.
- Normal school rules regarding hair styles, make-up and jewellery apply on the day.
If your son/daughter is wearing clothing that breaks this guidance or is felt to be inappropriate, then a senior member of staff will ask them to change into correct school uniform. Contact may have to be made with home to facilitate this. While contact is being made home students may have to be isolated from lessons.
Students will need to pay their £1 donation for wearing non-uniform before the day. Students who are fundraising to attend the Greece trip will be collecting money at lunch time from Monday 23rd May 2016 until Wednesday 25th May 2016 in the reception area. Please ensure your son/daughter pays their donation at this time as they will not be allowed out of lessons.
As Year 11 students have their English Literature examination on this day (27th May 2016) they will not be taking part in this non-uniform day and should arrive at school in their normal school uniform. Note it is examination rules that any students sitting real examinations must be in full school uniform.
