Forest Hall receive gift from Magna Carta Barons Association
Posted: 12th May 2016On Wednesday 11th May, Forest Hall School was presented with a financial gift from the Magna Carta Barons Association.
Mr Collingwood from the MCBA presented the gift to students and stated -
"Many thanks to your Headteacher, Mr Hehir, for his unstinting enthusiasm. In the summer of 2015, Stansted marked 800 years of Magna Carta. The 25 baron towns throughout England joined together in forming an organization named the Magna Carta Barons Association. Our principal aim was to increase local knowledge of their barons role in Magna Carta, extending the legacy we have all inherited. We can all be proud of the heritage of Richard de Montfichet.
This Magna Carta 800 brochue tells the story of Richards part in the events of 1215 with a pictorial history through to the current day. Brilliantly written by members of our Local History Society, the brochure is a treasure and essential reading for all Mums and Dads, Students and Teachers who have any connection to Stansted Mountfitchet.
All the proceeds of the brochure are being gifted to the Forest Hall School.
It gives me much pleasure, on behalf of the MCBA to present this cheque and remaining brochures to the school for ongoing heritage projects."
