Students launch uniform shop
Posted: 11th November 2020A second-hand school uniform shop has been set up for the first time.
The Year 11 student executive team at Forest Hall School are organising a uniform shop for their peers.
Parents are invited to donate used uniform in good condition which is then washed, photographed and advertised by the school to sell on to other families.
The group would usually meet regularly to discuss priorities and plan tasks, but restrictions mean they cannot mix because of their separate bubbles.
Instead, they have met virtually to come up with their first projects of the school year.
Sarah Power, enrichment lead, said: “The team are meeting online once a week to set out their goals. They are teaming up with our PTA to set up and run a uniform shop.
“Lots of families are struggling financially, so this will be one less stress for them. This work also ties in with our mission to become as environmentally friendly as possible.”
Parents can take second-hand uniform to the school reception and can purchase via email or social media.
Money raised from the shop will be used by the PTA to benefit the school.
