Airport visit inspires students
Posted: 25th February 2020The local airport provided some career inspiration for young students.
More than 100 Year 8 students from Forest Hall School spent half a day at Stansted Airport Aerozone.
They were given a history of the airport, followed by talks from airport ground staff and a pilot where they were given the chance to ask questions about their roles and career paths.
They got to explore the aerozone, trying out the uniform and equipment, solving puzzles, taking part in construction challenges and making paper aeroplanes.
Students also went to the viewing platform to see planes landing and taking off.
Paul Conlon, director of Year 11, said: “Pupils enjoyed the range of different activities at the aerozone and learning about the different jobs available to them if they want to work at Stansted Airport.”
