Families had a brighter Christmas, thanks to FHS students.
Posted: 28th January 2019Families had a brighter Christmas, thanks to Stansted students.
Students from Forest Hall School volunteered to hand out leaflets to shoppers at Tesco informing them about Bishops Stortford food bank.
Sarah Power, careers and enrichment lead, said: “Shoppers were really impressed with our students who had given up their own time on a Saturday and were there in uniform to help. The organisers were blown away by them.
“It was great to see them gain confidence during their shifts.
“Our students are so keen to do these things. We like them to get involved as it makes them aware of how lucky they are with all they have. It opens their eyes to the fact people in their community have to go to food banks to get their food. It’s a great way for them to gain empathy and is a way for them to give back.
“Being keen and caring will get them everywhere in life.”
